OXWAGEN, BONNIEDALE GUEST FARM AND BAVIAANSKLOOF
17 – 23 DECEMBER 2017
COME ENJOY A PRE-CHRISTMAS, OVER-LANDING ADVENTURE FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
This over-landing adventure is my personal favorite as it starts two days after the builder’s holiday, therefore giving enough time to arrange finer details for the trip and Christmas. The bonus is you will be back in time for Christmas if you so choose.
This pre-Christmas over-landing adventure will start at Heidelberg on the N2 and end close to the town of Patensie. During this adventure we will be driving sections of the Oxwagen trail from Heidelberg to Bonniedale guest farm. At Bonniedale guest farm you will have the option of driving one or as many trails you choose to drive at set cost that can be paid directly to the owner. See cost below. This gives you the flexibility to decide on the morning in question if you’re going to relax at the camp or drive the 4x4 trails. En-route to Oudshoorn we will endeavor to drive as many off-the-beaten-tracks as possible. Here enough time will be on hand to replenish fuel and food supplies.
Our next destination is the well-known Baviaanskloof, which we will drive from Willowmore to Patensie. This relaxing 7 days and six nights adventure will take us along many back roads, experiencing beautiful places before ending at Bruintjieskraal. This pre-Christmas over-landing adventure will expose you to some of the well-hidden gems in the Western and Eastern Cape.
The top class campsites we will be visiting include green, level lawns, hot showers, flush toilets, water and electricity. All the campsites that we will be utilizing have plenty of activities to keep you and the family busy. Some of the activities you will encounter are river or dam fishing, various hiking opportunities, swimming and 4x4 trails. The bonus is that most of these activities are all in line of sight from your camp, therefore giving the adults plenty of time to catch up on some well deserved rest while keeping an eye on the children.
The reason I have decided to put this agenda together and facilitate this overland adventure with you is due to the fact that I have done this exact trip many times over the last couple of years with friends or family. Being an electrical contractor and electrician by trade, I am bound to take leave during the builders’ holidays in December and January and know how important it is to utilize these couple of weeks to the optimum. Here is an opportunity to spend quality time with family, friends and fellow Cederbergers.
Bend your friends’ ears with all this information and make sure they join you on this trip.
All information supplied in the agenda is given in good faith by Cederberg 4x4 and compiled from the latest information available at the time. The activity times, as indicated in the agenda, are subject to change without notice and at the sole discretion of the guide.
