THE NOVEMBER KLEINTAFELBERG MUSTACHE CHALLENGE FOR ALL DRIVERS
November Mustache 50% Discount on Trial Fees Competition
All drivers sporting a mustache qualify for a 50% discount on the 4x4 trail fees for the weekend. A picture of your mustache will be taken at Kleintafelberg and their followers will decide on a winning mustache for the month of November. The winning mustache will win a weekend (two nights) in a chalet for four people or a glamping tent for two people. You have four weeks to grow that winning mustache. Cederberg 4x4 requires a pic of your mustache when booking to qualify for the 50% discount.
Accommodation Options
This weekend at Kleintafelberg we can accommodate ground tents, rooftop tents, 4x4 trailers and off-road caravans. If you want to spoil that special woman in your life or family, make use of the chalet or glamping accommodation available and eliminate having to pitch a tent. If making use of the chalet/glamping accommodation, it is required to book the chalet for Friday and Saturday nights. All chalets/glamping tents are fully equipped (bedding and towels included) with air conditioners (chalets only). Bookings for the chalets will work on a first-come-first-serve basis as there are limited chalets and glamping tents available.
Should members of your family or fellow participants decide not to accompany the driver on the 4x4 trail, the camp offers a swimming pool, baby pool, sufficient shade and a lapa to enjoy while the rest of the group drives the 4x4 trail. Alternatively, you might consider completing the hiking trail on the farm or explore the area on your mountain bike.
Kleintafelberg 4x4 Trail
The Kleintafelberg 4x4 trail is situated in the Sandveld, between the towns of Redelinghuys and Aurora and ranks amongst the best and more popular 4x4 trails in the Western Cape and in South Africa. Cederberg 4x4 had a very big hand in helping the original owner, Albert Smit, in planning and mapping out the 4x4 trail. It has been rated in the Top 10 4x4 trails with accommodation in the country by outdoor magazines on many occasions. The present owners, Kleintafelberg Training and Adventure Centre (KTAC), are maintaining the facilities and 4x4 trail to the standard that Cederberg 4x4 has been used to experiencing over the years.
The length of the trail is approximately 15km and will take between 3 – 5 hours to complete. The 4x4 trail consists of two sections. A challenging rocky section, also known as Adoons, is a very challenging rocky section where high ground clearance is required, good articulation and rear diff a prerequisite. The second section of the 4x4 trail consists of a network of challenging sand tracks with interesting names like “Milk Shake Hill, Fyndraai, Diep Sloot, Kurktrekker and the well-known Heartbreak Hill”. Some of these names may sound very daunting but drivers can enjoy peace of mind that the only thing that could be damaged is your ego. Great fun and laughs will be enjoyed by all while on the sand section of the 4x4 trail (that we will be driving) with many photo opportunities capturing the highlights of the day.
☺
Kleintafelberg is a perfect venue where there is something to do for every member of the family. The campsite offers top class ablution facilities, swimming pool, shaded campsites, chalets and glamping tents. You are welcome to bring your mountain bike to explore the surrounding farms.

29MHz TWO WAY RADIOS
Communication between participating vehicles on any 4x4 excursion is important for many reasons. It ensures the safety of drivers, passengers and vehicles while on a 4x4 trail, where drivers can communicate with one another as regards to their location and situation, not to mention the interesting information that is shared with participants. The fun part is the many interesting stories that are shared among participants, taking the boredom out of the long distances, we need to travel to enjoy the great outdoors.
We suggest all 4x4 vehicles that don’t have a 29MHz two-way radio, HIRE one from us at a nominal fee of R250-00 for this excursion, especially if you are planning to drive the 4x4 Trails on the farm.
Should you be hiring a 29MHz radio, please ensure that your lighter socket is working. If you intend running more than one item from the lighter socket, ensure to have a double adapter and spare fuses on hand.
Should you wish to make a once-off investment and purchase a 29MHz radio, we have negotiated a special deal for all Cederberg 4x4 participants. For more information, contact Coenie on 022 492 2040.
