THE EVER POPULAR
LAMBERT’S BAY DUNES
20 – 22 MARCH 2026
FOR ANY 4X4 ENTHUSIAST NO TRIP TO LAMBER’S BAY WILL BE COMPLETE IF THE EVER POPULAR “THE DUNES” 4X4 TRAIL IS NOT DRIVEN
The Dunes 4X4 Trail
The Dunes 4x4 trail is situated 10km from Lambert’s Bay on the R364 direction Clanwilliam. This unique 350ha dune area does not grow in size or walk (move) as many other dune areas have the tendency to do. Although thousands of tons of sand are moved in a day when the wind is blowing, the basic shape and formation of the dunes remain the same. This is one of the reasons why this 4x4 dune trail is so popular. Not only is it offered as a guided 4x4 trail, ensuring the safety of vehicles and passengers, the numerous dune challenges will test and hone your sand driving skills. This is your opportunity to experiment with various gear selections and get to know your vehicle better. Many driving hints and tips will be shared throughout the day. As the day progresses and your technique and confidence grow, those seemingly impossible early morning dunes won’t look all that daunting. Peace of mind can be enjoyed by all drivers as there are escape route options at the more difficult dunes, should you choose not to drive them.
Here is your opportunity to invite friends and visit this picturesque West Coast town while spoiling yourself and family to all the amenities this amazing town has to offer.
